Speaking of luck...
I’m lucky enough to have an online friend (Scilla from Switzerland) who sends great music my way. This rural corner of the world has many virtues, but since we’ve lived here I’ve found it hard to come across new music I love. Chalk it up to age, poor radio stations, being too busy to browse record stores all afternoon, or not hanging out with other music-loving people.
This, among many reasons, is why we all need young, music-loving friends who live in other cities, in far-off places that play music that we wouldn’t ordinarily hear.
Today, Scilla (thank you! thank you!) sent me this video. If you need me, I’ll be here, playing this song over and over and over, dancing in my chair, thinking about how luck—and friendship—finds you when you least expect it.
If you like, there’s an English cover version here:
Your luck will find you
Wherever you may choose to roam.
Suddenly it smells like home.
Your luck will find you.One day you’ll know who you are.
One day you’ll know where you belong.
Aaaw! Thank you so much Rebecca! I find that I’m the lucky one here 🙂
Still thinking about your idea of a podcast… Might set it up this summer when business slows down.
Speaking of luck and coincidence… I just got home and changed into my comfy slob outfit (aka PJs) to realize it’s got VERMONT printed in large letters on the front!! (Have been wearing it for years without noticing!) Just imagine that 😉
what a lovely way to end my work day. came home and treated myself to listening to both versions and thinking the black and white photos of the crown-adorned young girl could have been you! thanks to both Scilla and you for allowing my day to end on such a “lucky” note. was feeling a tad bit remorseful as I had to turn down a trip to visit a friend yesterday b/c of work overload and now things have been righted and I am feeling a little bit bad about not leaving today to visit her 7-8 hours away. oh well another day with hope my luck will find me . . . .
