And after the feasting

Today was the lazy day.

After all the cleaning and cooking and socializing yesterday, we took today to just be. We did a few dishes and the essential chores, but, otherwise, we drifted along a lazy path of doing what we wanted, when we wanted.

Road

We nibbled leftovers as the whim took us, stared at the fire, read books, watched huge snowflakes drift past the windows, introduced Ike the Poodle to his first snowfall, scratched goat ears, took a walk on an icy road.

Gallop

We speculated about what our most embarrassing guilty pleasure songs were. We drank margaritas, and at least one of us had a brief nap after drinking hers.

Twins

We did as we pleased in that way that you can only do on a day when no one is expecting anything of you at all.
