I tried all day yesterday to capture a picture of the hummingbirds who regularly visit my office window feeder, but they’re wiley little birds. I would spend five minutes with my camera trained on the feeder and no one would show up, until about 30 seconds after I put the camera down.
I guess I’d make a lousy wildlife photographer. I don’t have the patience to sit in a tree for five hours, waiting for the animal I want to see dash out onto the savannah.
Instead, though, I did get these two pictures, because the subjects were willing to sit still for me for a few minutes while I fiddled and focused:
Maybe I’ll get a hummingbird today.
